JONAS KIRK MYSTERIES CLICK
Can Jonas Kirk, a wealthy, white, middle class twentysomething orphan find a purpose in life? Thoughtful detective work appeals to him, especially when it solves homicides that seem to puzzle the local police in Woodland Park, Minnesota. In CLICK, Kirk reaches out to Sergeant Chester Devlin, sharing insight that solves a case, creating a working confidence that matches the distant, clean and tidy Kirk with the ambitious, messy, dogged Devlin. Always outside the political establishment, Kirk's independence serves him well in appreciating quirky human behavior and linking it to motives for murder. In time, he finds a woman who shares his sense of loose commitment, touches up against the rules of religious rituals, learns a lot about poison and accidents, samples the potions of witches and solves crimes with a gentle humor and growing appreciation for Sergeant, later Lieutenant, Devlin. Enjoy this first volume wherein Kirk explains why a bathroom accident is murder, and share his thoughtful emergence from playboy to puckish provider of homicidal justice.

I very quickly found myself in the role of Jonas Kirk and now look forward to being directly involved in future episodes. I thought Dick did a great job of introducing us to the primary characters - Kirk and Devlin - without taking us away from the development of the story line. I think he will need to be careful with Devlin so he can become more than a Dunkin' Donuts caricature. And I can't help but wonder if Jonas is not as straight-forward as he wants us to think. Does he have "a touch of larceny" in his heart? Maybe future stories will tell/show us.Dick/Jonas keeps us unaware of important clues until the right moment. I felt a bit like a fish nibbling away at the worm on the hook knowing I was about to be caught by the skillful landing - and ending. Just enough of a twist to surprise us without being outlandish or unbelievable. Well done!
It took me less than 30 minutes to read "Click", ironically one trip to the throne in the bathroom. This made the story a good break from the constant TV drivel. Thanks, Dick, for a good read, an imaginative approach, and leaving me with a desire for more.

CLICK JONAS KIRK MYSTERIES Book 1 edition by Dick Snyder Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I was intrigued from the time the body was found, to see how Jonas would figure out "who done it". The quick pace of the story kept me turning the pages, and the answer was a lot of fun to discover. Jonas rocks! I look forward to the next installment.
I've read a couple of Dick's other short and have enjoyed his ability to create a vivid picture of his characters. I'm looking forward to more.
I'm looking forward to more of the adventures of Jonas Kirk and Sargent (soon to be Lieutenant?) Devlin. Keep 'em coming, Dick!
The author spins a tale capturing the readers attention. You are turning the pages quickly in order to see what is going to be happening in the story line. A quick read and I'm looking forward to the next edition of Jonas Kurt mysteries
Very interesting and fast read. Enjoyed meeting the main characters and look forward to future murder mystery stories by Dick Snyder. Bring it on!!
Click is easy reading and Jonas Kirk and Chester Devlin are interesting characters, although two different personalities but they do work well together. The dialogue is descriptive and Jonas proves he has the uncanny ability to solve the murder. Dick Snyders first novel is well developed and I look forward to how Jonas and Devlin go about solving futures mysteries. I believe you will enjoy Click.\
A murder mystery in the classic tradition, starring amateur detective Jonas Kirk and put-upon but cooperative police Detective Chester Devlin, both living in pristine Woodland Park, a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Jonas is handsome and well-to-do, attractive to other people but detached from life, an observer more than a participant in community life. In this case, the first of the Jonas Kirk mysteries, he attends a party and stumbles, almost literally, over the body of a young woman, Emily Horner.
His hobby was homicide and this was his first case. He pulls the long-suffering Devlin into the investigation. The solution fulfills his dream of aiding the police in such investigations and pleases Devlin by giving him credit for case closed. Jonas is not a brute detective like Mike Hammer, but the mild-mannered amateur gets off dialogue with a hard-boiled edge, as when he discovers Emily’s dead body “Although Emily held center stage, she was unavailable for encores,” he says. Very good work by Dick Snyder.
